- Understand the fundamental concepts of computers, software, hardware and peripheral devices and evolution of computer technologies.
- Gain knowledge to identify, explain and apply functional programming and object-oriented programming techniques and use of databases to develop computer programs.
- Understand the front end and backend of software applications.
- Acquire knowledge about computer networks, network devices and their configuration protocols, security concepts at various level etc.
- Acquire technical skills to lead a productive life in the society as a professional or as an entrepreneur.

PGDCA Programme Objectives
- The primary objective of this program is to prepare students for careers in the software industry, understanding and skills, related to the use of computers and its applications.
- This course provides students with options to specialize in new and upcoming technologies.
- To provide opportunity for the study of modern methods of information processing and its applications.
- To develop among students the programming techniques and the problem-solving skills through programming.
- To prepare students who wish to go on to further studies in computer science and related subjects.
